Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill

Tim joined the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school in 2001; attending boot camp during the 9/11 attacks on our country. In 2005 Tim deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He returned home safely from his tour and decided to join the Army where he endured the grueling test to join US Army Special Forces, passing the course to become a Green Beret in 2011.
In 2013 Tim McGill volunteered for deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom as a Weapons Specialist, training the Afghan National Guard in the event of insurgent attacks.
Tim was killed in action on September 21st, 2013 on the range in a green on blue attack (a terrorist disguised as an Afghan National Guard soldier killed him). Ray, Tim’s father, passed away in August 2014. Their family founded the RT Foundation in their honor.
